Munnar is formed by the confluence of three mountain streams: Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundala. This hill station, 1,600 metres above sea level, was once the summer retreat of the British Government in South India. Day 01
On the day first, you will be picked up from your hotel. On the way, you will see lush
greenery and hills filled with trees. Munnar basically means three rivers’ ‘ referring to
the confluence of 3 rivers – Madhurapuza, Nallathanni and Kundala rivers.
One of the best hill stations of Kerala; it was established long back in the Western
Ghats.There are numerous places to see around. And so, you will begin with the
sightseeing of Tea Plantations which are the heart of Munnar. I
In 1976, these plantations were taken over by TATA’S – one of the biggest
manufacturers of tea in India. Here we will take you around to see a factory (closed
on Sundays), where the entire process of picking, segregating, drying, threshing and
aroma packing is done.
Lunch will be in a South Indian Restaurant so that you can enjoy the flavors of south
Indian delicacies.In the evening, you can take a walk down the Photo Echo Point. A
picturesque place to see, explore and settle down – here you can take snaps and
explore the natural beauty. Night stay shall be at a pre – booked hotel in Munnar2
Day 02
As we said before, Munnar is a bounty of beauty; here you will see nature at its best! And in this natural cradle, there live hundreds of animal and plant
species! So, on the 2 day we will take you to Rajamala Wildlife Sanctuary or
Eravikulam National Park.Here you can see various Indian Species including
Panther, tigers, Gaur, Elephant, Sambar, Giant squirrel, champak squirrel,
Spotted deer and so on. A number of birds too can be seen!
In the afternoon, after lunch we will take you to Mattupetty Lake, a man –
made lake formed by a hydro – electricity dam (Mattupetty Dam). Night stay
and dinner shall be at the hotel only.
Day 03
On this day you will be taken to 2 wonderful waterfalls of Munnar – Nyayamakad and Attukul. Nature bestows upon them and it’s peaceful to sit down and see the water falling. Lunch will be at a good restaurant on the way to the next destination.
After lunch, the next big thing you will explore is the Indo – Swiss Cattle
Breeding Center Cum Dairy Project. After sightseeing, you will be departing for your onward destination and Munnar trip ends with Travelogue India.
